A man was left with a broken ankle and other injuries after being assaulted outside a hip hop gig in Perranporth in September.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, September 25, outside the Watering Hole Pub on 
Perranporth Beach.

That evening there had been a hip-hop music event in the area with a number of acts playing and it is believed that there would have been a number of witnesses to the assault.

A police spokesperson said: "The victim, a 27-year-old man from Bristol, was leaving the Watering Hole pub between midnight and 1am via the decking area which was busy with people, when he was struck in the back of the head by what he believes was a blonde haired man who was in company with others.

"The victim was further assaulted being kicked and punched multiple times and he sustained a number of injuries including a broken ankle and extensive bruising and swelling to the face and head."

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them on 101@DC.police.uk quoting crime reference CR/068027/16.
