The Cornwall Humanists have been raising funds and collecting donations for a local foodbank with a secular harvest festival event.
The group, which meets every month in the Fal building at Truro College and at Sonder Cafe Bar, collected the donations at its October meeting.
Group member John Langford met with volunteer Maggie Hebbon from Truro Methodist and Highertown Church in Truro to hand over the collection.
Humanism is a philosophical and ethical stance that emphasizes the value and agency of human beings, individually and collectively, and generally prefers critical thinking and evidence - rationalism and empiricism - over acceptance of dogma or superstition.
