Local people who are looking to get a foot on the property ladder are being invited to an open day in Truro to find out all about shared ownership.

The open day is being organised by Coastline Housing and will take place on Saturday, December 3, from 11am to 2pm at its new Trelowen Apartments at Gloweth, where applications are now being invited from local people interested in part-buying, part-renting a property.

Darren Browning, of Coastline Housing, said: “High house prices in Cornwall have excluded many people from being able to buy a home of their own on the open market.

“Shared ownership is designed to help people get on the housing ladder when this is the case. You buy a share of the property that you can afford, and pay a subsidised rent on the rest. The total should be lower than the cost of getting a mortgage on the whole house or renting privately.”

Anyone interested in finding out more, and having a look around the newly completed apartments, is welcome to pop along on the day or to contact the team on 01209 200230.

The apartments are situated on the new development along Higher Besore Road, past Richard Lander School. From the entrance of the development take the road around the corner and the apartments are located straight ahead.
