Cornwall Care pledged its support to the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust in 2016 by choosing it as its charity of the year and last month handed over a cheque for £447.

Staff of Cornwall Care are encouraged to take part in the Sunday Times best companies survey which gives them a chance to have their say on their employers, but also to raise cash for charity. For the past two years a commitment has been made to donate £1 to charity, for each survey that has been completed by a member of staff.

The money raised was handed over to the charity before Christmas. Robert Black, chief executive for Cornwall Care, said: “We are committed to supporting charities and fundraising events. There are many benefits of fundraising, and we are delighted to present Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust with the money we have raised through our employee engagement.”

Hayley Cayton, fundraising officer for Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, said: “As we receive no government funding towards our rescue missions, the support of the community really does make a difference. It ensures that we can continue to attend lifesaving missions in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.”
