Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was found bleeding in a Truro street after being stabbed in an incident which may have been linked to a fight in one of the city's pub.

Officers and an ambulance crew were sent to Baynards Close just before 5pm yesterday (Wednesday) after being made aware of a suspected stabbing to an 18-year-old male.

A member of the public who had found the injured teenager conducted first aid at the scene until the paramedics arrived.

A police spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing at this time and likely to continue for some time. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident which may be linked to an earlier fight in a local licensed premises. Police would like to stress that this is an isolated incident."
