A homeless man from Truro was stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle yesterday morning, and had to be rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police were notified by the ambulance service shortly after 3am on Thursday, who took the 25-year-old man to hospital.
The incident occurred at Moorfield carpark in Truro, which has become an encampment for the homeless community in the area.
Truro CID are currently investigating the crime, and have asked any witnesses or anyone with information to call the police on 101 quoting crime reference CR/01538/17.
A police spokesperson said: "Police were notified at 3.10am yesterday by ambulance services after reports of a man with a wound to his neck, possibly caused by a broken bottle.
"The incident took place at Moorfield carpark in Truro and a 25-year-old man was taken to Treliske hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is in a stable condition. He is expected to make a full recovery."
