Truro Foodbank has bagged trolley-loads of support from the Co-op and its customers after the retailer launched an appeal as part of its St Piran’s Day celebrations.
Foodbank manager, Bob Girvan, collected dozens of bags of groceries from the Co-op's Perranporth store along with £250 of shopping vouchers to spend with the community retailer.
He said: “We are delighted with the support of the Co-op and its members and customers - it is only with the help of the community that we’re able to continue our work and help those around us who are in need of our emergency support.”
Martin Trethewey, area manager for the Co-op, said: “We would like to thank members and customers who contributed to the appeal – we had a tremendous response, each and every donation has added up to make a huge difference to the lives of people in need in our community.”
