Children from Threemilestone Primary School have been chosen as winners of an art competition, after submitting entries with the help of their art teacher, Becky Davis.

The students will now have their work displayed at the DFS store in Truro, after they won the competition ran by the retailer.

Ran by the furniture giant, the competition asked local school children to create a piece of art based around their favourite Truro landmark.

Erin, Thomas and Hannah all created a piece of art which reflected their favourite landmark of the area, and were invited into the store to see them put on the wall for customers to enjoy.

Becky Davies, year five art teacher, said: “We were thrilled when DFS contacted us about the art project and our pupils couldn’t wait to get started on their entries.

"Getting to go down to the store to see them on the wall was a special treat which I’m sure they won’t forget.”

Tom Lemon, store manager, said: “We’ve been getting to know the local community and customers across Truro over the past few weeks and we really wanted to find out what it was that inspired people, what building or landmark really summed the town up and made them proud.

“It was great to welcome Erin, Thomas and Hannah into store along with their teacher Miss Davies.

"The pictures go fantastically on the wall and customers have already been admiring them.”
