Residents at Roseland Parc and Roseland Court, a local retirement village and its integrated care home in Tregony near Truro, have raised nearly £300 for Help for Heroes through a well-attended coffee morning.

Over the course of the morning staff sold tea, coffee and homemade cakes, which were quickly snapped up by hungry residents. There was also a raffle with prizes donated by people who live and work in the village.

“At Roseland Parc everyone rallies round to support good causes,” said village manager Simon Baird. “Help for Heroes provides lifelong support to service personnel and veterans who have sustained illnesses and injuries while serving in the British Armed Forces. This is a cause close to our hearts at Roseland Parc, so we are proud to support it.”

The coffee morning was a big success with many residents commenting on how much they enjoyed themselves.

Simon added: “This is a community of people who regularly go out of their way to make a difference to the lives of others. I’d like to thank those residents who attended and donated so generously.”
