The Wig & Pen in Truro will play host to a charity race night on Wednesday, June 21, from 7pm until late.

Racegoers are encouraged to come dressed in their best attire and big hats to watch and bet on previous horse races shown on the pub’s large projector screen, and all to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research.

Specially prepared food and drink will be available, including limited edition themed cocktails and mocktails in honour of the Queen’s winning horses, together with a free glass of Pimm’s on arrival for pre-registered guests.

The charity event is being organised by students from Truro and Penwith College as part of their event management course.

Event Management tutor, Davina Bohane said: “It’s fantastic that the students are working with a local business for the event, and to help support such a worthy cause too.”

Entry is free to all players, who are provided with a race book for all eight races. Tickets for races will be sold at 50p each, but there is no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase per race.

To guarantee free entry and receive your complementary glass of Pimm’s, you must pre-register online: bit.ly/racenight21.
