Staff from Cornwall Care gathered recently to take part in a training qualification presentation, held at Truro High School for Girls in Truro.

The training presentation is an official event that celebrates the qualifications and professional development of care and management staff within the organisation.

It was a sunny Saturday at Truro High School and the afternoon started with tea, coffee and cakes provided by Picnic Cornwall.

Local comedian the Kernow King compered the presentation, introducing Robert Black, chief executive officer, and Geraldine Lavery, non-executive director, of Cornwall Care, as well as David Losasso, lecturer at Falmouth University, to talk about the benefits and importance of professional development.

The comedian also welcomed the staff to the stage, to receive their certificates and goodie bags from Robert Black and Geraldine Lavery, who offered their personal congratulations and thanks for their hard work and accomplishments.

The presentation concluded with a staff party in the evening, celebrating the charity’s 21st birthday.

Staff who received their training qualifications earlier in the day received congratulations once again and entertainment was provided for everyone to enjoy.

Local band Sandy Acre 7 performed at the event, followed by a disco.
