The rescue helicopter was called to lower an uninjured man who got himself stuck on top of an island in Perranporth last Saturday afternoon.
The Newquay-based coastguard helicopter was sent to the island, next to the cliffs at Perranporth beach, after the man climbed the islnd then found himself unable to get back down again.
Video from the helicopter, posted on the Maritime and Coastguard Agency Facebook page, shows the winchman being lowered to the island, before collecting the man and taking him to the beach below.
The coastguard wrote online: "St Agnes Coastguard Search and Rescue Team and Newquay Coastguard were sent to the scene but were unable to rescue the man.
"The UK Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Newquay airlifted the uninjured man from the island to the beach below, taking care not disturb the the beautiful sand art that covered the beach.
"Who says we've got no appreciation of art?"
