Polwhele House’s riding school and its facilities are now open to the public on Saturdays and during school holidays.

The Polwhele House riding school facilities include a 20 by 40m all-weather outdoor arena, large paddocks and extensive grounds and woods for hacking. Through the guidance of the school’s skilled teachers and trainers, the school's pupils compete in dressage, show jumping and gymkhana events plus external competitions.

Now, the school is welcoming the opportunity for the public to use the facilities and gain riding skills outside school hours.

Headmaster Alex McCullough, said: “We have always been complimented on our extensive equestrian facilities and many of our pupils have enjoyed learning about horse care and honing their riding skills, fuelling a passion for all things equestrian. We wanted to open this up to the public so we can share the opportunity with the wider community."

The riding school will be open on Saturdays from 9.30am. The lessons are suitable for all ages and abilities and offer toddlers’ sessions, individual and group lessons as well as the opportunity to learn on your own pony.

Miriam Hopper, head of riding at Polwhele House, said: “It is a joy to be able to offer our riding facilities to the public. Riding can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities – something we aim to cater for through the range of sessions and lessons available. We hope people continue to join us and make the most of our beautiful grounds and facilities.”
