Police have arrested a 16 year old boy after a younger teenager was allegedly stabbed in the back on a Truro estate yesterday evening.
Ambulance and police were called at 7.40pm on Wednesday (27/9) following reports that a 14 year-old boy had been stabbed at Trelander.
A force spokesperson said: "The boy, from Penzance, was talking with a friend outside Trelander and St Clement Community Hall when he was subjected to an unprovoked attack by a male who was wearing a mask.
"He received a puncture wound to his back. His injury is described as serious but not life-threatening."
The boy was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, where he remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Local units, firearms officers and a dog unit attended the scene, and police enquiries led to an address in Truro where a 16 year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
The 16 year-old, who is from Truro, remains in custody in Camborne.
