Cornwall’s emergency management team has warned not to travel after midnight tonight and during tomorrow unless “absolutely necessary.”
The team based out of County Hall said: “From midnight tonight and through Sunday snow and ice is forecast for Cornwall but not the Isles of Scilly.
“From midnight on Sunday through to Monday ice is predicted in Cornwall. High winds are also expected causing big waves on the south coast “We advise not travelling during these times unless absolutely necessary. Cormac gritters will be out and about.
“Stay in the warm this evening, please avoid wave watching and be aware of anyone vulnerable that could be affected by the sudden drop in temperature, as it could go as low as -5 [degrees centigrade].”
