A REDRUTH man who assaulted a pregnant woman on a hospital ward has been jailed for 18 weeks.

Matthew James Field, aged 43, of Sea View Terrace, committed the offence in Truro on May 10.

A restraining order was put in place to prevent him contacting the victim until a further order is made.

He must also pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

A TEENAGER from Penryn has been banned from driving for six months after being found to have no insurance.

Joshua Lee Harrison, of Bohill, committed the offence on March 11 at Quintrell Downs, near Newquay.

He was also fined £660 and order to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

DRIVING with no insurance in Old Hill, Falmouth, resulted in a man's licence being endorsed with eight points.

Andrew James Opie, aged 28, of Laburnum Close, Falmouth, admitted the offence and was also fined £120 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30.

A FALMOUTH teenager has been fined by Bodmin magistrates after failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver who committed an alleged offence.

Sol Christian Baggaley, aged 19, of Ashfield Villas, pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place on November 27 last year.

He was fined £173, ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with six points.

A ST BURYAN man who exceeded the speed limit on the A30 at Roseworthy, near Camborne, has been fined £233 by Bodmin magistrates.

Simon Luke Barker, aged 27, of Rectory Road, admitted the offence in an Audi A4 on November 20 last year.

He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge and his licence was endorsed with four points.

A HELSTON man who failed to give information relating to the identification of a driver has been hit with a £660 fine.

Mark James Brown, aged 48, of Albion Road, committed the offence on January 16.

He was ordered to pay £85 costs, £66 victim surcharge and his driving record was endorsed with six points.

A 32 year-old Ponsanooth man has been fined £570 for a speeding offence on the A30 at Temple, near Bodmin.

Thomas William Forster, of Rose Farm, admitted the offence on November 17 last year.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs, £57 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with six points.

A PENSIONER who drove a private hire vehicle without holding the required licence has been ordered to pay £2,000 costs by Truro magistrates.

Anthony Herrick, aged 71, of Harbour View, St Just in Roseland, has also been disqualified from driving for six months. 

He also drove with no insurance on the day of the offence, which took place in Portscatho on November 10 last year.

He was also fined £205 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge.
