Thousands of people watched one of the best Truro City of Lights parade ever last night.
It marked the beginning of the Christmas period in the city at a time when the credit crunch is biting.
But there was little sign last night as the spectacular lanterns were carried through the streets before the city Christmas lights were officially switched on.
