A family of four were left stuck in the mud earlier today in Truro.
They had hired a boat from Mylor Harbour to travel up Carrick Roads to Truro, but when they got to Sunny Corner at Malpas just after 2pm they found the tide had gone out more than expected – leaving the boat stuck on the mudflats.
Fire fighters and coastguards were called out to help rescue the parents and their two children.
Among the equipment used was inflatable paths, which were put down to help get them safely to the edge of the bank.
They were finally back on dry land just after 3pm.
