Man tells Truro court, 'You are not going to put my dog down'

Sticky O’Rourke shouted at Truro magistrates: “You might try and bang me up, but you are not going to put my dog down”.

O’Rourke, 39, of City Road, Truro, faces a charge of being the owner of a dog allowed it to be dangerously out of control and cause injury, and four further charges of failing to comply with a dog control order.

The dangerous dog charge alleged that his dog injured Jake Karrington outside Staples store in Truro on March 17.

O’Rourke pleaded not guilty to all the charges and elected trial at Truro Crown Court on the dangerous dog charge which will be committed on July 20.

The four other cases are due for mention at Truro Magistrates’ Court on June 22.

Leaving the court, O’Rourke shouted out: “My dog will love all of you. He is a good dog.”
