Volunteers spruce up Truro beauty spot
Green fingered volunteers were hard at work last week, brightening up a Truro beauty spot.
Furniss Island, on the banks of the River Allen, is named after the popular Cornish biscuit company that once operated a factory in Truro.
A short walk from New Bridge Street and Lemon Quay, the green space offers a haven for office workers to enjoy during their lunch hours.
Kloe Wood Lyndorff, from Truro Green Walks, who organised the “Plant your Park” event, said: “The planting party on Furniss Island was a great success. A host of locals came long to donate plants and help plant up the rest of the plot.
“Thanks to everyone’s hard work, it is really looking great.”
Packet readers wishing to donate plants to help fill in the remaining space at the plot can contact Kloe on kloe.wood@hotmail.com
