Cornwall fire service bosses take to Twitter

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service has taken to social media to give an insight into life at the Service.

Facebook users and Twitter followers will receive updates on incidents and news at CFRS as well as safety messages, campaigns and events.

The service’s senior officers Des Tidbury, Cornwall’s Chief Fire Officer and Paul Walker, deputy chief fire officer are also regularly sharing their thoughts on twitter, at @CornwallCFO and @CornwallDCFO.

“Social media is a great way to reach a broader range of audiences,” said Mr Tidbury. “Twitter is particularly useful for giving updates on incidents and safety messages, while on our Facebook we’ve had queries about fire safety and recruitment.”

As well as the main Facebook page, www.facebook.com/CornwallFRS, there are also pages for the service’s Flashpoint Lifeskills Centre, www.facebook.com/FlashpointLifeskillsCentre, and early learning fire safety www.facebook.com/elfsInCornwall.
