Olympic visit for Truro school

One of the country's top sailors, double Olympic gold medallist Sarah Ayton OBE, will be visiting youngsters at Truro School.

Sarah, who won Olympic gold in 2004 at Athens and again in 2008 in Beijing, will be visiting the school to talk to pupils, about her sailing career, Olympic experience and receiving the OBE. This will be followed by a visit to the local Volvo dealership Truro Motor Company on Moresk Road, Truro to talk to their customers and guests.

Truro Motor Company will also be hosting an evening reception at its showroom where guests will be able to meet Sarah and find out more on Britain's top performing sport at three out of the last four games.

Sarah won gold in the Yngling Class with teammates Shirley Robertson and Sarah Webb in Athens and again with Sarah and new teammate Pippa Wilson in Beijing. Sarah retired from competition to concentrate on motherhood and has two sons Thomas and Oscar-Flynn with husband and fellow Olympic competitor, windsurfer Nick Dempsey, part of the Team Volvo sailors, who will be competing in London this summer.
