Lucky to be alive after shocking fall in Newquay: VIDEO

A man is lucky to be alive after a head-first fall onto concrete outside a Newquay bar.

The 23-year-old tumbled fifteen feet onto a concrete pavement after climing safety railings during a night out in the town.

The man was left with a fractured wrist.

Inspector Ian Drummond-Smith from Newquay police said: "The incident was captured on CCTV and the 23 year old local man concerned, who has no memory of the incident, has agreed to the release of the footage as a warning to others not to climb safety railings.

"Although he suffered an injury to his wrist, he is fortunate not to be more badly hurt. Behaviour like this is not unique to Newquay and across the UK people take dangerous risks.

I hope this footage will make people stop and think before they put themselves in unnecessary danger."
