A hairdressing salon in Falmouth is raising money for charity with a month-long raffle and waxing treatments.

Sylva Scissors based in Hayman Way, Falmouth, is fundraising for Blind at Sea (BATS), which provides fishing trips for blind and partially sighted people.

All the money generated from both the raffle and the waxing will be donated to BATS.

Tara Uren, who owns the salon, said: “My dad is a partially sighted person. He goes on the fishing trips and he really enjoys them – they definitely help him.”

Lee Davis, a partner at Sylva Scissors, and family friend Chris McColl, demonstrated their bravery by having their legs waxed at the Green Lawns hotel in Falmouth.
