BUDOCK WATER:
St Budock Parish Church: The first Sunday of Lent saw a large congregation attend St Budock Church for the Service of Sung Eucharist and this included a contingent of Guides.
The service was led by the Reverend Geoffrey Bennett and the organist was Mr R Fletcher. Lessons were read by Dr P Garland and Mr A Bennett.
The Reverend Bennett read the Gospel and then gave his sermon based on the temptations of Christ by the Devil. He said that the following of God is never easy, but is not without joy. He suggested to the congregation that they should try and read one of the Psalms every day during the period of Lent to help their understanding of the Gospel.
Intercessions were led by Mrs M Godley and Mrs S Weller.
After the service many of the congregation retired to the Choir Vestry for coffee and fellowship.
