A number of residents from Devoran, Carnon Downs and Feock have put their names forward to serve on the Feock Parish Plan Steering Group. The group, which will meet three or more times a year is being set up following publication of the parish plan compiles by the a parish council in consultation with three separate groups representing each of the three areas.

At a meeting at Feock church hall chairman of parish council Colin Taylor gave an outline of the plan to steering group members and other interested groups with clerk Alan Truan giving more details as to what happens next.

It was important that people in the area became involved with the plan which was an important document and which would involve the area and the people who live there, for several years.

It was a long term project which looked at all aspects of life in the area, including transport, planning, conservation, housing needs and other issues.

A huge amount of work had gone into the plan and some action has already been taken on some of the schemes put forward.

The plan has now been adopted by the parish council as the prime focus for its activities for the future. Mr Truan hoped that with the impending change to unitary local government in Cornwall, the plan would well received and that the wishes of local residents would go forward.

Those attending were told that it was important to keep residents informed and that newsletters would be sent out to households in the near future. A new parish web-site was also being set up and would carry news and information about the plan.

It is planned for working groups to be set up and for them to liaise with everyone concerned including the residents of the area to help deliver the major topics set out in the plan.

Copies of the plan are available from the parish offices at Four Turnings. Some had also been sent out to local groups and organisations.
