MYLOR:

SINGERS: The audience joined in with gusto singing at their Christmas concert "Christmas Miscellany" on Wednesday at the newly refurbished and very beautiful Tremayne Hall, Mylor Bridge.

During the first half carols, mainly taken from the book Carols for Choirs, Book 3" edited and arranged by David Willcocks and John Rutter, were sung, plus well-known carols with audience participation. The second half was a fun half with popular Christmas songs and carols, again with audience participation.

The concert was in aid of Carrick Mind Befriending Scheme, a voluntary organisation which aims to promote good mental health in the community. During the interval Ruth Morris, co-ordinator of the organisation, spoke on the work that they do saying that 30% of people in Britain experience mental health problems every year.

The organisation cares for the needs of those who suffer from anxiety, stress and most forms of mental disorder. It is a voluntary registered charity and they are looking for volunteers who can give sixth months of their time to help with this very worthy cause. Gentlemen volunteers are desperately needed. The telephone number is 01872 222469.

If any lady is interested in joining the Mylor Singers, they can contact Irene Gardiner on 01326 375976. The Mylor Singers sing at all kinds of venues, including weddings, baptisms, funerals or any other special function.
