TREWENNACK
METHODIST CHURCH: Palm Sunday morning service was conducted by the Rev Geoffrey Thorpe and was the third in a series with the theme of Journeying with Jesus.
The Lent devotions were by Paul and Shirley Brown who placed palm leaves on the cross. Jesus' journey through Jericho to Jerusalem was the topic for the service and Mr Thorpe showed pictures of Jerusalem as it is today and a model of how it was in our Lord's day. The Bible readings from Luke 19 told the story of Zacchaeus and of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey. The worship group led some of the hymns. Val Thorne was the pianist and Connor Campbell was on drums. Paul Brown led the community singing before the service.
On Maundy Thursday at 7.30pm the Rev Sylvia Burgoyne will lead a sacrament supper when soup and rolls will be served. On Good Friday, Mr Thorpe will lead a meditative service at 10am, which will be followed by Easter buns, tea and coffee. On Easter Day the service will be led by Mr Chris Smith.
WENDRON
PARISH CHURCH: Morning service of holy communion on Sunday was presided over by the rector Canon David Miller. The epistle was read by Mary Durman. Canon Miller read the Gospel. The intercessions were led by Gillian Bowles, reader in training. The communion elements were presented by Vee Green and Sue Spencer. The sidesman was Netta Treloar. Michael Thorn was the organist.
At the close of the service a Lent lunch, prepared and served by the ladies of the church, was held in the school. The proceeds of the lunch were being donated to this quarter's chosen charity, the Leprosy Mission. On March 16, Palm Sunday, there will be a service of holy communion at 10.30am when the celebrant will be Canon David Miller.

TRINITY METHODIST CHURCH: Miss Muriel Wood replaced Mr John Lucas at Trinity on Sunday owing to his recovery of a leg operation.
There was a good turn-out of children and they all enjoyed a quiz, in which they had three choices to choose the one they thought was applicable. The main choice was, which of the following was the most important: the Queen, Jesus or the Rev Amanda. They made the right choice and chose Jesus. Beryl Perry and Rex Tremayne read the lessons and Janet played the organ. Lewis and Hannah picked up the offering. Elizabeth brought a lovely variety of daffodils for the table.

Those who whimped out missed out on the Carnival held on Saturday. Torrential rain failed miserably to dampen the spirits of those taking part though the small number of spectators adversely affected the size of the charity collection.
