CHYNHALE

CHAPEL: The preacher on Sunday was Shirley Quintrell, from Praze. Joe Hill welcomed people to the service, the flowers were provided by Jean James and the organist was Shirley Mildren.

The monthly social evening was held on Friday, when a quiz and games were organised by Karen and Kevin Moseley.

BURRAS

BURHOS METHODIST CHAPEL: The morning service on Sunday was conducted by Myrtle Care, whose theme was Thomas. Crystal Thomas read the lesson from Isaiah. Ida Treseder read about Mary Magdalene. The offering was taken up by Victoria and Rebecca and the organist was Janet Hearn. Birthday greetings went to Sam Combellack.

The previous week, the Easter Day service was conducted by the Rev Amanda Stevens, who also administered the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. The Lenten cross was stripped by members of the congregation and replaced by spring flowers. The offering was taken up by Fred Jenkins and the organist was Janet Hearn, who also sang during the Sacrament. Tea was served in the hall in memory of Hannah Handy, nee Watkins, who tragically died aged 25 following a road accident last month. Hannah attended the Sunday School at Burras throughout her childhood.

TREWENNACK

METHODIST CHURCH: Sunday Family Service was conducted by Rob and Amanda Priest and was based on "Seeking first the Kingdom of God". Two young volunteers helped illustrate how it is not easy to remember things when distracted. The Bible reading from Matthew chapter 6 was by Morwenna Triggs. The Worship group led the community singing before the service with Val Thorne at the piano and Connor Campbell on drums. Refreshments were served in the hall after the service.

PORKELLIS

TRINITY METHODIST CHURCH: Rex Bray led the service on Sunday. He told the children how frightening it is to be lost and asked them if it had ever happened to them.

Rachel Coulston played the organ and Andrew picked up the collection. Jenny Hosking brought the flowers.

There was a united service at Ponsongath with the Rev Sylvia Burgoyne preaching at 6pm.

The coffee morning at Trinity raised £200, which will be used to support Adrian Hendy's work in Zambia.
