TREWENNACK
METHODIST CHURCH: Sunday Morning Service was conducted by Margaret Flinders and based on our Christian walk through life.
The young people (and some adults) used Ordnance Survey map signs to illustrate the journey and Mrs Flinders explained how we can get help and guidance from Jesus. The Old Testament readings by Alex and Pam were from Proverbs, Isaiah, Psalm 16 and Jeremiah.
The New Testament reading was from Luke chapter 24. Margaret Eva was the organist with Val Thorne at the piano and Connor Campbell on drums. Keith Carter led the community singing before the service.
WENDRON
ST WENDRONA PARISH CHURCH: The Rev Harry Chant was the celebrant and preacher at the Holy Communion service on Sunday morning.
The epistle was read by Lady Peggy Allinson. Mr Chant read the gospel; Joy Whawell led the intercessions; the communion elements were presented by Rachel Chant and Janet Parker; the sidesman was Robert Osborne and Anne Veneear was the organist.
Coffee was served after the service by the ladies of the congregation.
On Sunday (13), there will be a service of Holy Communion at 10.30am. The celebrant will be the rector, Canon David Miller.
The chosen charity for the retiring collections this quarter is Mission Moldova.
PORKELLIS
METHODIST CHURCH: The Rev Amanda Stevens led the worship on Sunday helped by Dennis Warren, who read the lesson and Donald Hearn and John Tyler who did a dramatised reading; Elizabeth Tremayne played the organ and Beryl Rowe brought the lovely camellias for the communion table; Tegan and Lewis received the offering.
The Rev Stevens talked about how the disciples met the resurrected Jesus and how the risen Lord meets us through the Bible and sacrament today.
On Friday the Network Easter Offering Dedication Service is at Ruan Minor commencing at 2.30pm.
P&O Ferries has signed a contract with Aker yards to build two large car-passenger ferries for the Dover-Calais service. The price for both vessels is said to be EUR 360 million.
The weather may have let them down but the runners did organisers proud at this year’s Mawnan Fun Run.
