Firefighters were called to The Strand, Newlyn, in the early hours of this morning after a report of smoke pouring from a commercial premises.
Fire Control received several calls reporting the fire in the two storey Co-op building measuring approximately 20 metres by 10 metres at around 1.25am, with two appliances from Penzance and one appliance from St Just sent to the scene.
A fire service spokesman said: "The fire was on the ground floor and firefighters wearing four breathing apparatus used one hose reel and one jet to extinguish the fire. A fire investigation will be carried out in the morning.
