Organisers of one of the UK’s most challenging obstacle races is throwing down the gauntlet to endurance athletes from across the UK and Europe, asking if they have the stamina to take on the Cornish landscape.

The new race, following on from the success of the Tuff Enuff: World’s End obstacle race that took place in May, is a 16km race around a new purpose built, permanent obstacle course.

Tuff Enuff director Tony Borrat said: “We listened carefully to the feedback we received from the 1,500 brave souls who managed to complete Tuff Enuff: World’s End.

“People loved the course and cried out for more.  Well, as they say, be careful what you wish for.”

The new course, once again designed by military experts, has many more obstacles, and promises to be even more arduous.

The September event, entitled Tuff Enuff: Above and Beyond, is a Le Mans style endeavour. Competitors will have to get round the 4km course, not just once, but four times with many surprises in store.

“We don’t want to give too much away,” added Tony. “Let’s just say those strange noises coming from the woods might not just be your imagination. This race will test endurance, fitness, strength and courage at the highest level.”

An 8km option of just two laps of the circuit will offer newcomers a first taste of a fully-fledged endurance race.

The permanent course is just one element in Tuff Enuff’s range of bootcamps and events. The course will be available for use all year round as part of packages offering fitness training, wilderness survival, close quarters battle training, coasteering, climbing, ocean skills and other team-building exercises.

The Tuff Enuff course and training can be utilised for corporate team building, stag and hen parties, youth organisations or by individuals who want to push themselves to the limit.

Tuff Enuff: Above and Beyond takes place at Pendrea Farm, St Buryan, Penzance, TR19 6EU, on Saturday, September 27.
