Firefighters were called to a flood at a Penzance flat yesterday morning after water started affecting the electrics.

A crew of six from Penzance were called to the flat in Alexandra Road at around 10.30am, after water started entering the buidling.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Crews made entry to one flat and isolated the water, the fire panel in the building was also affected and crews isolated this.

"Battery operated smoke detectors were fitted in the building until the alarm panel could be repaired."
