UPDATE A woman found on the shoreline at Marazion Beach this morning in a 'serious condition' has died in hospital.
Police and ambulance were called to Marazion Beach at 9am today (November 11) after a report that a woman has been found.
The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics, however she later died in hospital.
Formal identification has not yet taken place although the deceased is believed to be a woman in her 70s who was reported missing from her Marazion home earlier today.
Her next of kin have been informed.
The death does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to the woman being found.
The Coastguard and the RNLI also attended. The car park has been closed.
Police enquiries are ongoing at the scene.
Cornwall Search and Rescue said that the team were called out this morning to assist in the search for a 74-year-old woman missing in Marazion.
However as team members were arriving on scene, she was found on the beach in a serious condition, and later taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital.
A spokesman added: "Our thoughts are with her friends and family at this difficult time."
