The volunteer crew at Penlee werer on hand to help a former member of the crew after he collapsed on Sunday after a day at sea.
Coxswain Patch Harvey and crew members, Dave Osborne, Tony Rendle and Josh Simm, joined by other local fisherman, rushed to the assistance of a retired Penlee crew member and local fisherman who had collapsed on the pontoons .
In freezing temperatures the crew rendered immediate first aid for a chest injury and suspected broken ribs, and then stretchered their old crew mate back to the lifeboat station.
He was kept warm and comfortable until the arrival of a paramedic and ambulance and was then taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Truro.
