Firefighters were called after a gas pipe ruptured and caught fire in Penzance on Saturday afternoon.
Penzance Fire Station sent two fire engines at around 3.30pm following reports that a bonfire in Chapel Street had spread to the gas pipe.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Firefighters isolated the gas and extinguished the fire. Transco attended to repair the damage."
