Strong winds caused a gorse fire to burn out of control yesterday afternoon in the area of Newbridge, near Penzance.
Two pumping appliances from St Just were called at around 3.15pm to what was originally a controlled burn of gorse and bracken.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Crews used beaters to extinguish part of the accidental fire and allowed the rest of approximately two hectares to burn under supervision."
