Firefighters were called to Whitecross, Penzance, in the early hours of this morning after a report of a fire in a first floor bedroom.
Crews from Penzance, St Ives and Camborne were mobilised, with a total of 16 firefighters at the scene
On arrival the crews found smoke issuing from the property and firefighters donned six sets of breathing apparatus and tackled the fire using a main jet, a hosereel, and a covering jet.
An ambulance was requested for a male suffering from smoke inhalation.
