Arson is suspected after a fire broke put in the basement of a building in Tolver Place, Penzance, on Friday night.
Fire engines from Penzance, St Just and Hayle and a wholetime officer were called just after 8.30pm to reports of smoke issuing from a building.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Crews discovered a fire in the basement of adjoining outbuilding of the larger premises. Four breathing apparatus and two hosereels were used to extinguish the fire and prevented it from spreading.
"The cause is believed arson and details have been passed to Devon and Cornwall Police."
