A man with serious back injuries had to be helicoptered to hospital from Gwithian beach on Saturday afternoon.
The coastguard team from Portreath was sent to the beach, near Hayle, to help the man, who was in his mid 30s, arriving after paramedics.
The coastguard team arrived at the scene at the same time as the Sea King helicopter from 771 Naval Air Squadron based at RNAS Culdrose near Helston and secured a landing site on the beach for them.
A coastguard spokesperson said: "We assisted with loading the casualty into the aircraft, which immediately flew him to Treliske Hospital at Truro. The team returned to our station at approximately 15:10."
