Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Newlyn in December.
The body of Michael Horner, 48, was found at a property in Gwarvas Road at around midday on Tuesday, December 29, after officers were called due to concerns about the occupant's welfare.
Two men from Penzance, aged 37 and 43, were arrested last week on suspicion of murder and released on bail until 17 May pending further enquiries.
In a tribute to Mr Horner, his family said: “Michael was a well-loved father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. The loss will be felt by a large number of people as he was well known in the community.
“Michael grew up in Penzance and had returned to live in the area about five years ago.
“We are devastated by his death, especially in these circumstances and would plead with anyone who has any information to come forward and speak to the police."
A police spokesperson said: “We would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding Michael’s death."
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call 101, or email 101@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk, quoting reference CR/002586/16.
Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 or reporting online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
