Police are searching for a 64-year-old man who went missing in the Porthcurno area of Penzance on Sunday, February 7.

Mike Reid, from Redruth, was working in the area at the time of his disappearance and has not made contact with anyone since around 2pm on Sunday.

A family member reported him missing at around 6am on Monday 8 February when he did not return home from work.

Mike’s white van was located at the Minack Theatre car park.

A sea and coastal path search is ongoing by police and Coastguard. A Coastguard helicopter is assisting with the search.

Mike is described as white, 5ft 8ins in height, of stocky build, with short greying spiked hair. He was wearing black trousers, a white shirt and black jumper.

Inspector Jean Phillips, based in Penzance, said: “We are extremely concerned for Mike’s welfare, particularly with the wet and windy weather overnight. If anyone sees him in the area please get in touch.”
