A driver has died in a crash on the Hayle bypass which occurred yesterday afternoon, police have said.
Officers are loooking for witnesses after a a Toyota Aygo car was in collision with a Peugeot Partner van on the A30.
The driver of the Toyota, an 83-year-old man from Blackburn, Lancashire was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed.
The air ambulance, police, fire service and paramedics were called to the crash at around 4.40pm.
The A30 Hayle bypass was closed following the incident, and a Cornwall Fire Service spokesperson reported "heavy traffic congestion" in the area, while the road was closed with queueing traffic due to accident investigation work.
