Tributes have been paid to a motorcyclist who died in a collision on the A39 near Penryn early on Monday morning.

Beca Watkins, 30, was on her way to work at Waitrose in Truro when her 125cc motorcycle was involved in a collision with a green Volkswagen Polo, reported locally to have happened near Treluswell roundabout.

She was reported dead at the scene.

Online tributes have been paid to Ms Watkins, originally from Bath but living in Penzance, along with offers of support to her partner Michelle Gallimore.

Tributes were posted to the Facebook page of the New Inn at Wendron, which is run by Ms Gallimore's mother, and others were posted by friends on social media.

Julie Ann Oliver described Mc Watkins as "the most lovely, funny, friendly, amazing, hard working person I have ever had the pleasure to meet," and added: "Always there with a smile and understanding nature."

She wrote: "The world will be a sadder place without you in it. The memories you created for us all will live with us forever, sleep tight.

Emily Keevil wrote: "You know when you can't quite believe what your reading. I wasn't awfully close to you Beca Watkins but I spent enough time with you to know that you were so kind, so selfless, and just a wonderful human being not to mention hilarious and always made me laugh.

"My condolences to her family and her fiancée. I can't imagine what you're all going through. Rest in peace Sweetie, you will be missed."

And Amy Claire Causon added: "I'm in complete shock to read the news that my dear old school friend Beca Watkins has passed away.

"Taken from us far too young. Rest in peace darling."

Waitrose store manager Chris Reynard said: "Beca was an incredibly popular member of our team and will be hugely missed by everyone who knew her. Our thoughts are very much with her family and friends at this difficult time."

The Police Serious Collisions Unit is appealing for witnesses and is very keen to hear from anyone who has any information that could help police with their investigations.
