Citizens Advice Cornwall office opening hours over the Christmas and New Year have been announced.

Offices across the county will be closed for drop-in sessions and appointments from 1pm on Friday, December 23, 2016 to Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

During this time, the CA Cornwall phone and text service will also be unable to take messages.

Citizens Advice Cornwall chief executive, Neil Colquhoun, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to wish our clients, supporters, volunteers, staff and their families a great Christmas and New Year.”

He added that 2016 “has been one of our busiest years in recent times" and the organization "look forward to helping more people solve their problems in 2017.”

From January 5 2017 the Penzance office will offer extended opening hours, from 10am to 1pm, on Thursdays for drop-in, but will no longer offer a Monday drop-in.

The change will help CA deal with complex cases it is unable to deal with during drop-ins, as well as offering more full-appointment slots and detailed telephone advice.

Members of the public can also access advice by: Texting the word ADVICE to the 78866, calling the Telephone Access Centre on 03444 111 444 between Monday and Friday from 10am to 4pm, or visiting the website at citizensadvice.org.uk
