Pirates targeting away win at Moseley Pirates targeting away win at Moseley

The Cornish Pirates play Moseley at Billesley Common this weekend, having drawn both their previous away games against the Billesley Boys - 26-all in September, 2010, and 27-all in September, 2011.

As for this Saturday (ko 3pm), with a new-look team it will be a case of forgetting the past, giving respect to the opposition, and striving for an 80 minutes winning performance, following a satisfying 21-8 points victory at home to Leeds last weekend. Moseley are presently tenth in the league table, with the Pirates seventh.

England under 20s centre Sam Hill, who is dual-registered with Exeter Chiefs and impressed mightily in 2011/12, is set to make his first appearance for the Pirates this season.

His inclusion is one of three changes in the back-line from the team that started against Leeds, with the other two forming a fresh half-back pairing in Aaron Penberthy and a fit again Gavin Cattle.

Laurie McGlone will lead the side again from No. 8, and is part of a pack which sees starts given former Moseley lock David Lyons and prop Ryan Storer.

Speaking ahead of the game, Cornish Pirates head coach Ian Davies said:

"Our emphasis needs to be doing our thing and being accurate with it.

We were good against Leeds in the first half and then went off the boil, so we must strive for that 80 minutes performance."
