Wormsley (og), Squires
Cullompton Rangers 2
Pethick, Liverton
Falmouth Town were held to a 2-2 draw at Bickland Park this afteroon after a dour game which saw the home side finish with 10 men on the pitch.
Luke Wormsley's defelected own goal from a Steven Winnan cross gave Town the lead with 24 minutes gone.
And Glenn Squires put Town two up on 32 minutes when he latched on to Luke Wort's superb through ball before turning his defender and placing a shot past John Wannell in the Cullompton goal.
But Falmouth failed to capitalise on a spell of decent pressure after half time, and were duly punished when Marcus Pethick headed home Luke Osmond's cross on 62 minutes.
Things got worse for Town when Glenn Squires was harshly sent off for a second bookable offence with only ten minutes left on the clock.
Then three minutes into stoppage time Ryan Liverton popped up at the back post to volley in the equaliser from an acute angle, leaving Les Gilbert and Robbie Stephens still searching for that elusive first win.
Falmouth: J Chapman, S Winnan, B Bryant, T Whipp, J Webb, S Anderton, D Richardson, L Wort, G Squires, A Westgarth (K Turner 77), S Retchford. Subs (not used): E Boon, J Greet.
Elsewhere in the Peninsula premier division Bodmin were pushed hard by struggling Penzance, but eventually ran out 3-2 winners at Penlee Park. Former Falmouth Town player Lewis Caspell was on the scoresheet for the Magpies.
St Blazey's poor run of form continued after the Green and Blacks were beaten at home by Plymouth Parkway, and Newquay were narrow 3-2 losers at home against Elburton Villa.
Saltash registered a decent 2-0 victory at home to Ivybridge Town that sees the Ashes hang on to fourth spot.
