ST AUSTELL 6

Body (2), Dingle (2), Reski, Campbell

FALMOUTH TOWN 1

St Austell brushed Falmouth Town aside at Poltair Park on Saturday, running out 6-1 winners in a one-sided game.

There were ill omens for the visitors right from the whiste when the Lillywhites hit the crossbar twice in the opening ten minutes, and so it came as no surprise that the home side capitalised on their early dominance when Jordan Dingle slotted in on 18 minutes.

It was two barely ten minutes later when the excellent Mike Body bundled hope a scrappy second from close range.

But there was nothing scrappy about St Austel's third, Body on-hand to finish well after bursting clear of the Falmouth defence and beating Chapman with a powerful finish.

Falmouth gave themselves a lifeline against the run of play when Karl Turner blasted in from eight yards out just before the break.

But though a rejuvenated Town did their best to break St Austell down in the second half, the home side were rarely troubled.

The Lillywhites put the game out of sight on 60 minutes when Dingle bagged his second with a first-time finish from ten yards out.

St Austell were already cruising when Chris Reski scored the goal of the game with ten minutes left on the clock, arrowing in an unstoppable effort from 25 yards out which left Chapman with no chance.

Nick Campbell scored a sixth just before the final whislte, but by then the scoreline had ceased to matter.

The result makes in no win in almost two months for Falmouth Town as the malaise at Bickland Park continues.

Les Gilbert and Robbie Stephens will hope for a better performance when their side travels to Elburton Villa next week.
