Football fixtures cancelled as bad weather lashes the Duchy
12:25pm Saturday 22nd December 2012 in Sport
All the weekend's Peninsula League and Jolly's Combination League fixtures have been cancelled as rain and wind continue to lash the Duchy.
Falmouth Town's home game against Plymouth Parkway was cancelled as early as Friday after league secretary Phil Hiscox invoked the 'severe weather ruling', allowing clubs to call off fixtures without the need for an official to be present.
Town's game with Parkway and Penryn's home tie against Callington at Kernick Road will now take place in the new year.
Helston Athletic's game against Perranporth at Kellaway Parc was the last to be postponed after a late pitch inspection on Saturday morning.
Truro City's match against Salisbury City in the Blue Square Bet Conference South was also postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
