A Boxing Day hat-trick from Adam Carter and a Chris Luxton strike saw Bodmin Town beat Newquay 4-2 at Priory Park to move four points clear at the top of the Peninsula League premier division.
Newquay responded with a brace courtesy of Lewis Hilton and Danny Brook, but Bodmin dominated and ran out deserved winners.
The game was one of only two premier division fixtures to go ahead on Wednesady after another spell of bad weather forced match postponements across Cornwall.
In division one west, Helston's local derby against rivals Porthleven was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
But Helston's title rivals Godolphin Atlantic and Wadebridge did play. The two sides squared off in a top-of-the-table clash which saw Godolphin battle back from 3-1 down to eventually win 5-3.
The Gs are now 7 points clear of Sid Taylor's Blues, and ten clear of third placed Wadebridge who have two games in hand.
All other division one west games succumbed to the bad weather and were postponed.
